Karl has been with Kerr Wood Leidal since 2000, and in his role as Facilities Design Senior Engineer, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership and expertise in municipal engineering.  Karl is a Professional Engineer with a wealth of experience in planning, designing, and constructing municipal infrastructure, including water supply systems, sewage pump stations, and reservoirs.

Karl’s recent projects have been particularly noteworthy, including designing four reinforced concrete sewage pump stations for the City of Langford, BC, each with peak/emergency overflow storage and associated control and two stations with standby power.  He also designed the water supply system for the Whistler 2010 Athletes’ Village, a high-profile project for the Winter Olympics.

Karl’s most significant achievements include the design of the award-winning Trent Sewage Pump Station and the MacAulay Pump Station for the Capital Regional District in Victoria, BC.  These projects involved large regional sewage pump stations (1,500 L/s for Trent and 4,700 L/s for MacAulay).  They were recognized for their innovative design, efficiency, and sustainability, earning Karl and KWL high praise from industry peers and clients.

With Karl’s expertise and leadership, KWL’s Facilities Design sector continues to excel in delivering innovative, efficient, and sustainable infrastructure solutions.
