West Silver Valley Water System Planning and Design

Project Highlights

Working with the District of Maple Ridge and another consultant, Kerr Wood Leidal (KWL) completed water system planning for the expansion of the Silver Valley Water System in the West Silver Valley area of Maple Ridge.  This area is currently under development and will include at build-out over 1,100 dwellings, a school, and a commercial core.

The area’s steep topography required a water system spanning three pressure zones.  KWL designed the control valve and pumping station for the expanded water system.  The station includes two pressure reducing valves (200 mm diameter and 75 mm diameter) and two 25 HP pumps.  As well, KWL advised on construction of new off-site and on-site watermain upgrades.
