Our Purpose

Inspired solutions for thriving communities and a healthy environment.

Our Vision

We are recognized across Canada as a leader in developing innovative and environmentally beneficial applied science solutions that address challenges in the natural and built environment. Our partners and clients, long-standing and new, value our collaborative spirit and caring, customer-centric approach. We have grown but remain locally focused and are proud to still be an employee-owned company.

We nurture a culture where everyone feels like they belong, where we share ideas and are fiercely proud of the work we do and how we do it. People want to work with us because we live our values, we respect one another and the need for a healthy work-life balance, and we actively embrace continuous learning and collaboration.

Our Culture

We believe people need personal freedom to achieve client goals. We champion professional development, both through the broad range of client projects, and our peoples’ own educational goals and volunteer projects. We recruit the most talented, brightest minds to work together to achieve the best results.

Our People

We are an employee owned company and aim to stay that way.  Almost half of our employees are shareholders.  KWL began as a partnership with four employees working out of the basement of one of the founders in North Vancouver.  Today, we have 200+ people in six offices: Burnaby, Calgary, Victoria, Vernon, Nelson, and Yukon.

Community Involvement

Our projects make a real difference in people’s lives. We leave communities better off when projects are completed.

Sustainability

At KWL we challenge ourselves to create water, community, and energy infrastructure solutions in balance with nature that make the world a safer, better place for our children. We are striving to be climate leaders both corporately and professionally in our work.

Innovation

We challenge ourselves to think differently about real world problems. We take pride in creating solutions that push the boundaries of conventional practices.

Indigenous Relationships

KWL honours the land and its peoples.  We acknowledge that our head office is located on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəəm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Seíwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations who have been stewards of this place since time immemorial.  We are grateful to live, work and play on these lands and waters.
