New approaches for managing flood risk in the face of climate change

Municipal governments in BC are responsible for managing flood risk in their communities.

KWL’s David Roche co-authored an article in the Fall 2017 edition of Watermark magazine that describes the development of the District of Squamish’s Integrated Flood Hazard Management Plan.  After a three-year process that involved input from multiple stakeholder groups, Squamish now has a blueprint to respond to local risk tolerance, guide community development, prioritize capital investment, and support sustainable growth.
