Project Highlights

Following the ratification of the ʼNa̱mǥis Land Code, ʼNa̱mǥis First Nation has initiated the development of a land-use plan for their reserve land base.  KWL was retained to develop the Land Use Plan that reflects community values, builds on existing ʼNa̱mǥis initiatives and knowledge, and is grounded in a robust technical understanding of infrastructure servicing and development potential.

ʼNa̱mǥis’ objectives are to develop a Community Land Use Plan that reflects community priorities and is connected and consistent with the vision and objectives of the ʼNa̱mǥis’ Comprehensive Community Plan and Land Code.

Key outcomes from the Community Land Use Plan are visions and principles, designations and policy, and mapping to guide land uses and development according to the community vision and goals.  The Community Land Use Plan also recommends the next steps for additional studies, assessment, policies, and programs to support the implementation of the Community Land Use Plan.
